t-shirts, tattoos (?), and ep covers
This is my latest tshirt design!!! Modelled beautifully by Joe York. Handscreen printed, will have mens and womens sizes. I'm going to make a big cartel site but feel free to email me if you want to order one of these (or a vagina tshirt - see earlier blog post - im still selling them) at knottygirl_gotmessy@hotmail.co.uk.

i'm pondering getting this as a tattoo. found the image in Expect Resistance which is a really awesome book. it has a mixture of info, essays, stories and stuff all on anti-capitalist activism. i think No Borders also use this image sometimes.. anyway, got Arthur to draw it on me in pen so i could have a looksie and i think its a winner.
Back cover for the Jake and the Jellyfish EP. my days i do love tippex.

stuff i couldn't post on t'internet whilst on bail because im a paranoid idiot
Wrote this song not long after the whole Millbank thing. I still firmly believe that everything that happened there needed to. 2 million people marched against the Iraq war but the government ignored it. We march time and time again and they simply don't listen. The anti cuts cause would not have received any where near as much publicity as it did had tory HQ not been smashed up. To begin with, yes the publicity was negative, but I think anyone with half a braincell can recognise that anger and frustration at a selfish, out of touch, ignorant government is what fuelled our anger. And as for violence?! HAHAHAHA. A government that wages illegal war overseas and cuts benefits to those most in need within its own country has no right to accuse anyone else of "violence"... i could rant about this for some time. Anyway here's a crappy video of me playing this new song in my room. excuse my rhythmically challengedness and twattish facial expressions i pull when i sing..
You speak, of violence and mindless hate
well i ask, what constitutes our state
present to me, another fucking way
or unveil, a lack of democracy..
If you take me down
I'll spit in your face
You can tell the whole world
I'm a disgrace
But if you take me down
I'll spit in your face
You can tell the whole world
I'm a disgrace
Two million, voices ignored
The waging of illegal war
Peaceful, protest is dead
What did you expect?
What did you expect?
What did you expect?
If you take me down
I'll spit in your face
You can tell the whole world
I'm a disgrace
Well if you take me down
I'll spit in your face
You can tell the whole world..

night buses, painting and things
I heard in a lecture the other day about this Liam Gillick piece that involved vodka and glitter all over the floor of the gallery. The thing I found really cool about this was that the glitter would stick to people wandering around the installation, and, as glitter does, stay stuck to them for days. So this element of the installation constantly left the gallery with different people, spreading the art piece to wherever they went - infiltrating their everyday!!!
I find this a useful concept as I often think that one of the limitations of my work is that, even when it does work and invite people to question stuff ect, at the end of the day they just go home and wack the telly on and forget. With Gillicks piece, people would be reminded in the most subtle way of the piece a few days later by just the teeniest little bit of glitter still stuck to them.
I find the same problem with demos. Its all really exciting and everyone starts feeling really empowered but then (probably after being kettled for a good few hours grrrr) you just go home again, feeling tired and a bit pooped. and obviously no-one pays any remote attention to the demo, such is "democracy"! So at the next big demo, i think we should all take loads of glitter. Then the glitter can act as a physical manifestation of the empowerment and exchange of ideas that takes place at such events. I'm not saying it would make a massive difference, but it wouldn't hurt to try...

Whilst having my morning wee the other day i noticed this teeensy piece of loo paper on the floor. it looks like a tiny swan in the middle of a big lake. it made my morning wee much more exciting.

I seriously have got to start drawing more!
So i'm going to take this old A to Z out when im exploring. And just draw :) Hopefully free-up my ideas a bit.

I'm completely fascinated by travelling at night, especially on buses - double decker, sitting at the front. I like the way the lights outside mingle with the reflection and create whole new dimensions all moving in different directions. These are just some (slightly crap) sketchbook pages about it. I'm hoping the more I paint and draw and get my head round how best to represent the different dimensions the better I'll get and hopefully I'll make a few little paintings as well as some more exciting stuff I'm pondering..

the convenor was pretty constructive. i've got a hell of a lot of stuff to figure out.
ice coin up hilly fields
epic epic fail at posting in this daily! i blame watching rasta mouse on iplayer most nights for distracting me.
These are some images of my ice coin up at hilly fields. i went back to the casting workshop and made the mould deeper. i intended just to take pictures of it but it span in the wind so i now have loads of video footage that i really need to sort out. having a crappy camera actually turned out quite good in this case, i really like these images.
